Welcome to Overcoming Underemployment, a podcast and movement decades in the making. I’m Jessica I. Lutz, the host of this podcast and long story short, my own unexpected underemployment sent me kicking and screaming into the world of underemployment in 2013 and I haven’t been able to stop talking about it since.
While underemployment is far from uncommon, no one else is really saying much about it. Considering how many underemployed college graduates there are in this country at any given moment (there are quite possibly millions) and how detrimental the effects are (depression, stress, health issues, financial setbacks and instability, social isolation, and shame to name a few) it’s time to start talking.
It doesn’t matter if you’re about to graduate and are going to be underemployed, you’ve been underemployed for 542 days, used to be underemployed, or love someone who’s underemployed: this podcast is for you.
